Description
BOKNES (or Boknesstrand) is an undiscovered gem; a nature lover's paradise situated more or less halfway between Port Elizabeth and East London (Airports). In fact, this area has the best of both worlds - magnificent unspoilt beaches and sand dunes as well as game reserves (including the wellknown ADDO ELEPHANT PARK) and so "Big 5" game viewing is possible in this malaria-free area. This stretch of our eastern coastline is known as the Sunshine Coast as it boasts the highest number of sunny days in South Africa.
Boknesstrand has approximately 800 stands, with 300 houses and about 150 permanent residents. The Boknes River forms a lagoon at the main beach, which opens to the sea after heavy rains. This lagoon area is a breeding ground for many bird species. Whale and Dolphin watching is excellent and the area is also known as a fisherman's paradise, for both surf and deep-sea angling.
Here you can enjoy a tranquil and stress-free holiday .
